Day 01: CAIRO
LArrival at Cairo International Airport, assistance in Spanish from our representative before passport control. Transfer to the hotel and overnight stay.
Day 02: CAIRO
Ofbreakfast at the hotelDeparture for the included visit to the Three Pyramids of Giza: Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, the Sphinx, and the Valley Temple of Khafre (entrance to the interior of a pyramid is not included). In the afternoon, visit the Saqqara Necropolis and the city of Memphis, capital of the Old Kingdom. In the evening, optional visit to the Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids of Giza. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.
Day 03: CAIRO
Ofbreakfast at the hotelFull day of sightseeing in Cairo: The Egyptian Museum of Pharaonic Art, the Citadel of Saladin with its Alabaster Mosque of Muhammad Ali, the Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, and the Coptic Quarter. In the evening, visitoptional Enjoy a buffet dinner with a show on a boat along the Nile River. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.
Day 04: CAIRO / THE FOUNTAINS OF MOSES / SAINT CATHERINE
Breakfast at the hotelDeparture for the Sinai Peninsula via the Ahmed Hamdy Tunnel under the Suez Canal, crossing from Africa to Asia. Visit to Ayun Musa, also known as the Springs of Moses (Mara), followed by departure for the city of Saint Catherine. Arrival at the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 5: SAINT CATHERINE / MOUNT MOSES / TABA
At dawn, we depart for Mount Sinai (also known as Mount Horeb), 2285m high, where the prophet Moses received the tablets of the law from God while the Hebrew people camped at its foot. From the summit, we can witness the sunrise and Mount Santa Catalina, the highest peak on the Iberian Peninsula at 2637m. Descending from the mountain, we will visit the Monastery of Santa Catalina (if possible), situated at 1570m, with its impressive walls built between 527 and 565 by order of Emperor Justinian on the biblical site of [unclear - possibly "the place of the Lord"].
The burning bush. The monastery owes its name to Saint Catherine, an Alexandrian martyr who died in 395 AD. Her body, transported by angels, was discovered five centuries later on the summit of the mountain that bears her name. The monastery is the smallest diocese in the world and the oldest active monastery. Its library houses the oldest manuscripts in the world after the Vatican. Return to the hotel. Breakfast and, at the scheduled time, departure for the border crossing where we will leave Egypt.
